President’s message
It is said that there are a lot of people in Kashiwa who talk passionately about the place, and I myself may well be one of those “Kashiwa lovers” who talks zealously about the city.
Since the first time that I visited the Washinoya district in 2020 I was enchanted by its tranquility and the depth of its history, and after being involved in citizen activities I decided to establish a travel company.
In addition to Washinoya, all the localities of Kashiwa are full of a profound history and tourism resources. If I was asked to cite one special feature of Kashiwa I think it could be said that, other than seas and mountains, it is a place that brings together everything both new and old that is quintessentially Japanese.
I really hope that we can enable many people to enjoy the “cool” of Kashiwa.

President’s profile
Born and brought up in Kashiwa. Worked as a freelance editor, translator and koto performer.
While working at the Kashiwa Information Center in 2020, Ishii was inspired by the history and culture of the city’s former Shonan Town district, and the following year set up the Charling Kashiwa project for riding by bicycle around the historic spots of Kashiwa City. The project was later registered as a Citizen Activity NPO. Having worked at two NPOs, the Next-generation History & Culture Succession Research Institute and Kashiwa Tourism Productions, Ishii established Kashiwa Green Tourism Agency in August 2024, and the company has officially become a travel business registered with the Governor of Chiba Prefecture.
